After the Turkish “Peace Spring” operation in North Syria, approximately 160,000 people have left their homes in Rasul-Ayn and Tal-Abyad, moving South and Southwest for safety and shelter.

Most of them are settled in temporary barracks or with their families, scattered in the outskirts of Hasakah and Aleppo governorates. They are in urgent need of food, hygiene and shelter. In addition, the number of Syrian refugees on the Turkish side in the town of Kilis has overwhelmed the local population (120,000 Syrian refugees) They live in rented houses, camps and depend mainly on the assistance of the Turkish state and locals.


The purpose of this project is to provide 1000 food packages to 1000 families scattered and unprotected across Northeast Syria and 100 families in Kilis. 1,000 families selected from the 2,500 in the outskirts of Hasakkah and Aleppo that are in urgent need of food assistance. In addition, 100 families in Kilis will benefit from the food response. In total 5,500 IDPs and refugees will be the beneficiaries of this programming.


This intervention focuses on providing support to the vulnerable people living in Syria and Turkey, who have limited access to services. The objective of IDRF is to contribute to enhancing the nutritional status of the families who lack the finances to procure food for their family. This intervention will allow the families to reallocate their expenses on other primary needs. For all the reasons stated earlier and in order to program efficiently, IBC will focus its intervention on the region of northern Syria (IDP areas) and will target in total 1100 families, with approximately 5500 people.


$65 supports a family of 5 with access to nutritious food for a period of one month. Each food parcel ensures people reach their minimum daily intake of 2000 kcal.

Lebanon’s socio-economic situation continues to deteriorate, with the cost of basic needs exponentially rising as a result of the deep economic and financial crisis, exacerbated by the impact of the pandemic.
Ongoing problems such as the cholera and polio outbreak, poor hygiene conditions and lack of necessary equipment have created a massive burden on existing Yemeni health institutions.

As we focus on preventing the spread of COVID-19, our global communities’ response must support and encompass the needs of all populations, including those forced to flee their homes around the world.
