Position Summary:

IDRF is seeking a passionate and driven Community Engagement Coordinator based in Edmonton, AB to lead regional fundraising efforts and manage major donor relationships across Western Canada. This is an exciting opportunity for a community-oriented fundraiser to play a strategic role in growing IDRF’s impact through local engagement and high-value donor development. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Community & Regional Fundraising

  • Lead the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and events in Edmonton and the surrounding region.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with community members and organizations, mosques, businesses, and local leaders.
  • Represent IDRF at public events, speaking engagements, and outreach activities to raise awareness and funds to support IDRF’s causes.
  • Recruit, support, and mobilize volunteers to amplify IDRF’s reach and impact.
  • Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with major donors and philanthropic partners.
  • Track donor interactions and progress using CRM tools to ensure timely follow-ups and strategic donor stewardship.

 

Strategic Planning & Collaboration

  • Contribute to regional and national fundraising goals and strategies.
  • Analyze donor trends, opportunities, and community insights to strengthen IDRF’s fundraising effectiveness.
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments to ensure alignment of outreach and donor communications.

Qualifications & Competencies

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, major gifts, donor relations, or community engagement (non-profit sector preferred).
  • Proven track record of donor cultivation and successful fundraising campaigns.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; confident public speaker and relationship builder.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience working within diverse communities, especially Muslim and culturally diverse communities in Canada.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Asana, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel across Alberta
  • A genuine passion for IDRF’s mission and humanitarian work.
