NED University is embarking on an ambitious initiative
NED Cloud, a project by NED ALUMNI CANADA, is a transformative project aimed at revolutionizing cloud computing solutions. With an initial project budget of $1.5 million, this initiative aims to enhance digital infrastructure and foster innovation within the university.
Implementing private cloud computing at NED University will significantly benefit students by providing access to modern computing trends, such as artificial intelligence, data analytics, machine learning, and the Internet of Things (IoT). This initiative will also establish seven state-of-the-art computer labs, each equipped with 50 to 70 Virtual Desktop (VDI). The scalable infrastructure of NED Cloud will facilitate crucial courses in web development, coding, cybersecurity, and other emerging fields in technology and engineering.
Join hands with NEDAC in constructing a Cloud Computing Platform at NEDUET. The estimated project cost for the cloud hardware infrastructure is $1.2 million, with an additional $0.3 million needed for cloud software acquisition and licensing.Your generous support is crucial in bringing this vision to life.
As a token of our appreciation, we will erect a donation wall adjacent to the main auditorium at NEDUET campus. Your name, citation, and picture will be featured on the wall, with the size and placement reflecting the extent of your donation.
A letter from the NEDAC President
Ghulam Malik
President, NEDAC
In this era of rapid technological advancements, access to cutting-edge content and resources is crucial for students, enabling them to stay competitive and thrive in their fields. However, providing such access to students at NED University of Engineering and Technology (NEDUET) in Pakistan poses a significant challenge due to the country’s economic conditions. Recognizing this challenge, the NED Alumni Association of Canada (NEDAC) has taken the initiative to work with NEDUET and establish a private cloud infrastructure.
The project’s goal is to create a “NED Cloud,” that will facilitate computing services, storage services, platform services, application services, virtualization, messaging services serving as a comprehensive repository for world-renowned engineering books, research on cutting-edge technologies, webinars, seminars, and other valuable resources. By implementing this initiative, NEDUET students will have the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and compete on a global scale with students from renowned universities worldwide.
The project will commence with phase 1, which requires an estimated cost of $300,000. This initial phase will involve setting up 100 Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and storage to house the digital content. However, the project’s ultimate objective is to install 1,000 VDI, ensuring that all undergraduate students at NEDUET can benefit from this valuable resource.
To achieve the goals of this project, we humbly request the support and generosity of NEDAC members and community members who are blessed with the means to contribute. By joining hands with us and making generous donations, together, we can reach the target of phase 1, which is $300,000. It is important to note that donations made to this cause will be eligible for tax receipts from IDRF (International Development and Relief Foundation).
Your contribution to this project will have a lasting impact on the education and future prospects of NEDUET students, enabling them to access knowledge and resources that were previously out of reach. We believe in the power of education to transform lives, and with your support, we can make a significant difference in the lives of these aspiring engineers and technologists.
Thank you for considering this appeal, and we extend our deepest gratitude to all those who choose to support this noble cause.
