Partnering to Combat Food Insecurity in the Durham Region
IDRF is proud to partner with Nūrish Food Bank, a grassroots initiative that has been serving vulnerable families in Oshawa and surrounding areas since 2017.
Through this partnership, we will continue supporting over 75 families each month — many of whom are single parents, newcomers, or individuals struggling with rising living costs. Families receive monthly home-delivered grocery packages filled with essential items like rice, oil, flour, canned goods, and more, along with a $10 gift card for halal meat.
How We Operate:
Delivery Service: To ease the burden on families, groceries are delivered directly to their homes by our dedicated team of volunteer drivers.
Transparency: Items are purchased or procured from local suppliers. Packing days for delivery are open to the community.
Privacy First: We ensure recipients’ confidentiality and dignity throughout the process.
