“The place had games, and I played a little to ease my fear. I felt a bit comfortable and secure because it was a safe place, away from the bombings. For the first time, I slept through the night without hearing explosions.”

The ongoing siege and exposure to violence have robbed Gaza’s children of the stability they need to feel safe, creating an urgent need for emotional and psychological support.

Naima is a 10-year-old girl from Khan Younis, Palestine, who has endured the pain of displacement. After her family fled their home during violent bombings, they sought refuge in a shelter by the sea. There, she received psychosocial support, found comfort in playing games and engaging in painting workshops, which helped her overcome her fears.

Over 600,000 children across Gaza are out of school and Naima is among those affected as a result of the bombardment.

With dedicated support, she transformed from a shy child into a confident, active student who enjoys engaging with her community.

Thanks to your support, children like Naima can access essential resources providing her with an escape, even if it is just for a little while. However, much more assistance is needed to help all displaced families in Palestine during this critical time.
