Why a pooled model?
Traditional orphan sponsorship pairs one donor with one child, but that means the child next door may receive nothing. Every Child Counts uses a pooled funding model, so every child in the program receives the same level of comprehensive care. Your $65/month flows where it’s needed most, creating community-wide transformation rather than isolated relief.
This is Sadaqah Jariyah, an ongoing charity built to outlast any single contribution. Not rescue. Investment.

Where your
investment reaches
The Every Child Counts sponsorship program operates in five countries, chosen for the depth of our partnerships, infrastructure, and field presence:
4 Pillars of care
Every child in the program receives support across all four pillars, no exceptions.
Nutrition
Hot school meals so children can focus and learn, worry-free.
Water & Sanitation
Clean water access, hygiene facilities, and sustainable well infrastructure.
Quality Education
School fees, uniforms, supplies, teacher training, upgraded facilities, and learning continuity for displaced and conflict-affected children, including in Gaza and Yemen.
Comprehensive Healthcare
Vaccinations, regular check-ups, treatments, health education, and psychosocial support that builds confidence and resilience in children who’ve experienced loss or trauma.
How we inspire children
A 3-step pathway designed to move children from survival to potential to leadership.
Foundation
Meeting critical needs
In-depth community assessments identify and address the essentials: nutrition, healthcare, clean water, and sanitation. For orphaned and vulnerable children, this foundational care isn’t a given. We make it one.
Tools for success
Education & resources
Quality education, transportation, learning materials, and consistent medical support. Education allows children to transcend the socio-economic barriers that have confined their families for generations, by design, not by luck.
Building resilience
Mental health & confidence
Through regular check-ins and psychosocial support, we ensure every child grows into a confident, self-reliant young adult. This is how we raise resilient leaders, not just educated survivors.

FAQs
Everything you need to know before you give.
What's the difference between the $65 and $100 sponsorship?
The amount reflects the cost of delivering comprehensive care in each region. $65/month supports a child in Pakistan, Somalia, or Yemen, where our programs operate in underserved but stable communities. $100/month supports a child in Gaza, where delivering education, nutrition, healthcare, and psychosocial support under crisis conditions costs significantly more. In every region, all children receive the same level of comprehensive care.
Why only five countries?
Every Child Counts is designed for depth, not breadth. By concentrating on Gaza, Pakistan, Yemen, Sudan and Somalia, we can deliver the full four-pillar model of nutrition, healthcare, quality education, and water and sanitation to every child in the program. IDRF continues to operate humanitarian programs in over 30 countries; Every Child Counts is our dedicated child-sponsorship program within that broader work.
Why pooled funding instead of one-to-one sponsorship?
Traditional sponsorship pairs one donor with one child, which means the child next door may receive nothing. Our pooled model ensures every child in a given country’s program receives equal, comprehensive care. Your monthly contribution joins a regional pooled fund and flows to where it’s needed most: school fees one month, medical care the next, clean water infrastructure when a community needs it.
So is my $100 really going to one child in Gaza?
Your $100/month reflects the average cost of one child’s comprehensive care in Gaza, but it’s not earmarked to a single named child. It joins the pooled fund for the Gaza program, which collectively supports all enrolled children. This is more ethical and more effective than one-to-one matching: no child is left out, and resources flow dynamically to the children and communities who need them most.
Is this Zakat-eligible?
Yes. Designate your sponsorship as Zakat or Sadaqah when you donate. IDRF holds a Grade A Zakat Policy Transparency rating from MuslimGive, with 89% of every dollar going directly to programs.
Will I receive updates?
Yes, regular program and impact reports show how your sponsorship is working at the community level. Rather than individual child profiles or letters from “your child,” you’ll receive meaningful outcomes: how many children in your program region are now enrolled in school, completing checkups, accessing clean water, and reaching developmental milestones. This reflects the true scope of your impact.
Can I choose a specific country?
When you sponsor, you select Gaza ($100/month), Pakistan ($65/month), Yemen ($65/month), Sudan ($65/month) or Somalia ($65/month), and your contribution stays within that country’s pooled fund. You’re choosing the region your support reaches; the pooled model ensures it reaches every child there equitably.
What if I want to support more than one child or more than one country?
You can sponsor as many children as you’d like, across one or multiple countries. Each sponsorship is set up separately. Simply complete the donation process again to add another child or country to your support.
