IDRF Education programs provide equitable access to high quality education for children and youth, both boys and girls, in order to improve their employability and long-term quality of life, and to reduce poverty and poor health outcomes.
How do we do it?
Why support IDRF’s Education programs?
Every child, male or female, has a right to an education. Sadly, 57 million children do not have a school to attend.
Globally, 62 million girls do not attend primary or secondary school. However, when a girl receives an education, she is 6X less likely to be married as a child and will have fewer and healthier children who are more likely to go to school themselves. This creates a positive cycle of change.
Providing opportunities for children and youth a proper education is a vital step in reducing poverty and vastly improving a person’s quality of life.
