Job Overview

The Community Development Coordinator is responsible for supporting the growth of IDRF’s presence in British Columbia through donor engagement, fundraising, community outreach, and volunteer coordination. Reporting to the Community Development Manager, this role works to strengthen relationships with individuals, community organizations, and mosques, while implementing fundraising campaigns and organizing local programs that align with IDRF’s mission and values.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in community organizing, fundraising, or donor relations.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to work independently.
  • Understanding of religious giving from an Islamic perspective and connections to the Muslim community is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online communication tools (Teams, Slack, Asana).
  • Previous experience with Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud, or a CRM is an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within British Columbia.
  • Additional language skills are an asset.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

 

  1. Donor & Community Engagement
  • Build and maintain relationships with donors, mosques, and community organizations to raise funds for IDRF’s local and international programs.
  • Educate community stakeholders about IDRF’s work through meetings, presentations, and outreach activities.
  • Support and execute regional fundraising campaigns and strategies, contributing ideas and local perspectives.
  • Develop partnerships to expand fundraising opportunities and community impact.
  • Assist in building IDRF’s regional communication presence through targeted outreach and engagement strategies.

 

  1. Program & Event Coordination
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events and community programs in collaboration with the Community Development Manager.
  • Coordinate with volunteers to support and implement IDRF activities in the region.
  • Represent IDRF at community events, networking opportunities, and public engagements.

    3. Administration & Reporting
  • Maintain accurate records of donor interactions in IDRF’s CRM, fundraising activities, and event outcomes.
  • Provide regular updates to the Community Development Manager, ensuring alignment with regional targets and organizational goals.
  • Support the preparation of donor stewardship and impact reports.
