The Board of Directors of the International Development and Relief Foundation (IDRF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Nabil Ali as Interim Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1, 2026.
Nabil currently serves as IDRF’s Chief Operating Officer and has spent the past 10 years helping expand the organization’s humanitarian and development work across South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, South America and Canada. During this time, he has also played an important role in strengthening IDRF’s relationships with donors, partners and communities across Canada and internationally.
Nabil has represented IDRF in engagements with governments, institutional partners and international stakeholders, including at the United Nations General Assembly and international humanitarian and development conferences. He has also served on the boards of directors of Cooperation Canada and the Ontario Council for International Cooperation, contributing to sector governance and Canada’s international cooperation and development community.
His leadership and contributions to the humanitarian and development sector have received national recognition. In 2020, Nabil was named one of Corporate Knights’ Top 30 Under 30 Sustainability Leaders, and in 2024, he was recognized among The Peak’s Emerging Leaders in Social Impact.
The Board has worked closely with Nabil for many years and looks forward to his leadership as IDRF continues to strengthen its humanitarian and development work in Canada and globally.
