Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and results-driven Community Engagement Coordinator to join our passionate team. Reporting directly to the Director of Fund Development, the ideal candidate is responsible for implementing IDRF’s organizational vision and developing its strategic presence through three key areas:

  1. Establishing and Building IDRF presence in Western Ontario.
  2. Fundraising and Donor Stewardship
  3. Organizing IDRF activities and local programs.

 

You’ll play a key role in supporting IDRF’s mission and contributing to our commitment to equity, accountability, and innovation.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

The abilities and strengths needed for this position are expensive and require a self-directed, engaging, and organized disposition. This role depends on having analytical and creative depth to assess, develop and respond to regional needs in the context of IDRF’s overall strategic direction. The specific roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  1. Donor Engagement

 

  • Build and nurture relationships with existing and potential individual donors, Mosques and other regional institutions for the purposes of raising funds for IDRF’s local and international programs.
  • Meet the fundraising targets of assigned catchment area, including the Windsor-London-Tri-City corridor and surrounding areas.
  • Execute IDRF fundraising campaigns and strategies, while contributing ideas and regional perspectives.
  • Educate donors, Mosques and other regional institutions about the work of IDRF through various forms of communication, including in-person meetings, presentations, and public speaking.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with organizations for fundraising opportunities and cultivation.
  • Organize fundraising events and activities as needed.

 

  1. Regional Growth

 

  • Contribute to the planning and implementation of a regional strategy for expansion into new communities and regional organizations.
  • Represent IDRF at regional events and networking opportunities with the ability to plan and implement such events as needed.
  • Meet your assigned Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for the region.
  • Ability to travel and effectively work remotely across the region, as needed for marketing, events, meetings, and any other engagements.

 

  1. Community & Team Engagement

 

  • Build and maintain an active volunteer team(s) to support activities.
  • Develop networks of communication across community organizations and religious spaces for recruitment into IDRF’s Canadian based programs.
    • Build and expand IDRF’s communication in the region through donor outreach and implementation of marketing campaigns and strategies.
    • Contact individual donors for the purposes of donation follow-up, fundraising, and answering donor queries.
    • Design and implement localized marketing strategies and materials as needed, utilizing social media, digital, print and other media forms.
    • Maintain active and timely communication with the IDRF Head Office, for the maintenance of reporting, administrative tasks, and keeping track of all fundraising efforts and transactions.

Qualifications & Competencies

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Post-secondary education, ideally in a discipline related to fundraising, communications, or nonprofit work, is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in working with youth and/or community groups.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to IDRF’s mission, values, and equity-centered approach

  • Hold a solid understanding of Religious Giving from an Islamic Perspective and have connections to members of the Muslim community and mosques.
  • Broad knowledge of the principles of fundraising and ability to participate with all areas of the donor development cycle.
  • Familiarity with task management and communication platforms like Microsoft Office and Teams, Slack, and Asana.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to regularly travel throughout region.
  • Additional relevant language skills are a plus.
