Community Development Coordinator, Ontario (18 Months Contract)
Direct Reporting Line: Fund Development Director
Location: IDRF Head Office, Toronto Ontario
Duration: 18 Months
Reporting directly to the Director of Fund Development, the Community Development Coordinator is responsible for implementing IDRF’s organizational vision and strategic presence through comprehensive fundraising strategies.
The abilities and strengths needed for this position are expansive and require a self-directed, engaging, and organized disposition. This role depends on having high analytical and creative skills to assess, develop and respond to regional fundraising needs in the context of IDRF’s overall strategic direction. The specific roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Donor Engagement
- Build and nurture relationships with individual donors, Mosques, and other regional organizations to raise funds for IDRF’s local and international programs.
- Implement IDRF fundraising campaigns and strategies while contributing ideas and regional perspectives to the Director. Meet fundraising targets of assigned catchment areas.
- Educate donors, Mosques, and other regional organizations about IDRF’s work through various forms of communication, including in-person meetings and presentations.
- Develop strategic partnerships with organizations for fundraising opportunities.
- Act as the primary contact for a growing portfolio of donors responsible for initiating meaningful engagements with donors throughout the duration of the gift and beyond.
- Develop and implement strategies and initiatives to acquire, renew, and upgrade mid-level gifts to major gifts ($10,000+).
- Accountable for the information gathering associated with donor stewardship and impact reporting process.
- Lead and support activities as part of the IDRF’s existing monthly events.
- Write letters and other documentation to support the closing of gifts
- Demonstrate ability to build active regional team(s) to support and implement IDRF activities in the region.
- Maintain active and productive communication with the IDRF Head Office, including maintaining reporting records and keeping track of all interactions for fundraising efforts.
- Build and expand IDRF’s communication in the region, through direct outreach and implementation of marketing campaigns and strategies.
- Design and implement localized marketing strategies and materials as needed, utilizing social media, digital, print and other media forms.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of similar experience demonstrating growth and fundraising success.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in working with youth and/or community groups.
- Have excellent relationship skills, both with individuals and in building teams.
- Show evident potential for professional growth and expansion of responsibilities.
- Previous fundraising skills an asset.
- Commit to ethical excellence in all dealings and work, enriching the culture of IDRF’s team, and in representing IDRF’s values in engaging with others.
- Hold a solid understanding of Religious Giving from an Islamic Perspective and have connections to members of the Muslim community and mosques.
- Broad knowledge of fundraising principles and the ability to participate in all areas of the development cycle.
- Familiarity with task management and communication platforms like Microsoft Office, Teams, and Asana.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to regularly travel throughout the region.
- Additional relevant language skills are a plus.

Licensed 2 Learn (L2L) Halton Region Trainer

IDRF is seeking trainers to implement our Licensed to Learn peer-to-peer tutoring program in Halton Hills and Oakville.
About us:
Founded in 1984, the International Development and Relief Foundation (IDRF) is a Top 100 Canadian Charity (Charity Intelligence 2023) that works globally to provide humanitarian aid and implement sustainable development projects in health, education, water and sanitation, emergency relief, and economic development. Licensed to Learn (L2L) is our education program in Canada, which has supported over 45,000 students with academic support. Our peer-tutoring model teaches high-achieving students to be empathetic mentors and strong leaders. They then support their peers who are struggling in school— at no cost to the students!

What you’ll be doing as an L2L Trainer:
- Leverage relationships with schools and community organizations to incorporate the L2L tutor training program
- Deliver tutor training sessions
- Administer student surveys to assess program impact
- Lead check-in and review sessions with tutors
- Prepare and present tutor certificates and organize a program completion celebration
What we’d like from you:
- Experience as a tutor, educator, teaching assistant, or workshop facilitator
- Post-secondary training in education, child and youth studies, leadership development, or a related discipline – recent graduates are encouraged to apply!
- Have a passion for education and supporting students facing academic challenges

What’s in it for you:

Content Coordinator
Content Marketing Coordinator
Full Time- Position (37.5 hrs)
Reporting directly to the Marketing Director, the Content Marketing Coordinator is responsible for generating content supporting IDRF’s organizational vision and mission, through three key sources:
- Reporting
- Social Media
- Website Content
The abilities and strengths needed for this position require a self-directed, engaging, and organized disposition. This role depends on excellent writing abilities, while having analytical and creative depth to assess, develop and respond to the changing context of IDRF’s fast growing marketing team. A primary responsibility of this role is to develop core messaging and narratives to bring our organizational vision and priorities to life through storytelling and encouraging people to give. The specific roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Creatively summarizing impact numbers and activities into reports for donors, mosques, and organizations.
- Research, brainstorm and write SEO-focused copy for blogs, case studies, guides, landing pages and more.
- Publish and update content on our website that meets the needs of our audience.
- Provide recommendations and proofing for existing content- to better align to IDRF’s brand voice and digital marketing best practices.
- Create meaningful content and conversations for our social media channels, following a social media strategy to build our audience.
- Using AI tools to build efficiencies within the team, maintaining content calendar for social media, influencer, brand, and email marketing channels.
- Strategically gather, develop, and distribute content across social channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn).
- Support your fellow marketers with editing on landing pages, ads, etc.
- Share ideas that shape our marketing strategy at large.
What you bring
- 3+ years’ writing experience, preferably working for NGOs, blogs, news organizations, magazines, or other publications.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills. Must have the ability to identify tone and style for effective messaging for diverse audiences, with attention to detail, phrasing, and word choice.
- A lifelong approach to learning that keeps you ahead of the latest content marketing trends.
- A results-driven focus that motivates you to produce content that’s not only enjoyable but also supports team KPIs like lead and revenue generation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
