In this eye-opening lecture, history educator Hassam Munir will debunk many false narratives that have been put forward over time to explain the spread of Islam. Come (re)discover how it was the da‘wah of justice, unity and universality that compelled the hearts of people from Arabia to the entire world to embrace this message.
Speaker’s Bio:
Hassam Munir is an Islamic history researcher and public educator, currently pursuing an MA in History at the University of Toronto. He focuses on multimedia public history work and is the founder of the iHistory project. He has led Islamic history seminars in Canada, the US, and Uzbekistan. He has previously worked with the Ontario Historical Society, and was recognized by Heritage Toronto as an Emerging Historian in 2017. He is part of the marketing team at the Yaqeen Institute for Islamic Research.
