Severe Flooding in Bangladesh:
Millions in Need of Assistance

Severe flooding caused by heavy monsoon rains in Bangladesh has left millions in urgent need of help. Over 4.9 million people are stranded, with 18 reported dead due to the flooding. The worst-hit areas include Feni, Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Cumilla, Khagrachari, and Chittagong, where five major rivers are above danger levels.

Entire communities have been flooded, and many families have been forced to evacuate to over 3,500 flood shelters, currently housing nearly 285,000 people. The flooding has severely impacted children, pregnant women, and those who are breastfeeding. The situation is worsened by damaged flood control dams and disrupted transportation, isolating many communities.

IDRF is working on the ground to provide emergency relief to the most vulnerable, including clean water, food, hygiene kits, and support for children and women.

We stand in solidarity with the people of Bangladesh and are committed to providing life-saving assistance during this challenging time.
