“Droughts and floods have displaced my family, pushing us into a camp. Providing basic needs has been tough. I am so grateful for the aid I received because I can now support my six children.”
Maliha is a 39-year-old mother of six who has faced unimaginable challenges. After the loss of her husband, she relied on livestock to support her family. However, her life took a devastating turn when a severe drought destroyed her livestock, followed by heavy winds and floods that left her with nothing.
Forced to leave her home, Maliha sought refuge in a displacement camp in the Gedo region. In the camp, she worked tirelessly by washing clothes to provide for her children. With the challenges of displacement and constant hardships, it became nearly impossible for her to make ends meet.
With the help of IDRF’s food parcels, Maliha has been able to focus on rebuilding her life and caring for her children.
