Food Security for IDPs in Somalia

Food Security for IDPs in Somalia

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA) describes Somalia as one of the world’s most complex and longest standing humanitarian crises.

The Situation

In Somalia, 5.6 million people are food insecure and 2.8 million people cannot meet their daily food requirements due to the compounding effects of extended drought, flooding, desert locust infestations, the economic impacts of COVID-19 and conflict. Due to all of this, host companies are in immediate need of help and food-assisstance.
