The Gaza Strip faces an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, impacting livelihoods and access to essential services of its two million residents.

The Situation

The humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip has left residents with an unemployment rate of 50%

  • Agriculture (a critical sector of Palestine’s economy) has faced devastating consequences as a result of the crisis.
  • Economic conditions caused by the Israeli blockade has devastated 30,000 families among farmers, herders, and fishermen.

How you can help

With your donations, we will provide the farmers of Gaza with all the necessary agricultural inputs to restore the productivity of their farms. This project will ensure these farmers have a source of recurring income to support themselves on an ongoing basis.

    • Irrigation networks
    • Tilling/Planting
    • Provision of Fertilizers

    • Provide 72 farmers with necessary agricultural equipment

    The Palestinian Information Medical Center reports close to 5,000 students being diagnosed with visual impairments. IDRF is providing children with certified optometry assessments and a pair of prescription eyeglasses for those diagnosed.

    • Early detection of eyesight problems is crucial to preventing vision loss and improving the overall health and well-being of individuals.

    • Poor and low-income households are unable to access certified optometry assessments for their children.

    • Many eye-related conditions only tend to worsen over time due to age-related macular degeneration (AMD)

      IDRF is continuing to provide 7,600 children and youth with the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of structured educational programming at the Child Center in Gaza.

      The Situation

      Economic, political and social barriers have hindered access to safe and quality education in Gaza

        • This has been further aggravated by high poverty rates, inadequate living conditions and ongoing power outages.
        • A poor quality of education has contributed to low academic achievements among students.

      Your donations allow us to provide children with a wide variety of structured educational programming at the Child Center in Gaza. Participants have the opportunity to enroll in a variety of activities, courses, and workshops in visual arts, science, information technology (IT) and literacy.

        Across Gaza, sources of clean, potable water are extremely scarce. Over 97% of water in Gaza is unfit for human consumption. IDRF is trucking water to 35 schools to help the most vulnerable children.

        The Situation

        Across Gaza, sources of clean and safe drinking water are extremely scarce. The lack of clean and accessible water across Gaza is rapidly becoming a leading cause of preventable death.

            • Over 97% of water in Gaza is unfit for human consumption

            • Only 10% of Palestinians in Gaza have access to safe drinking water (UNOCHA) due to:

              • High levels of groundwater pollution through fertilizer usage

              • Wastewater seepage into main reservoir

              • High concentrations of chloride, nitrate and salinity in Gaza’s water, as reported by the Palestinian Water Authority (PWA)

            • 1.9 millions people are negatively affected by widespread water shortages, and rising needs of hygiene and sanitation.

            • 983,623 women and 991,428 children are exposed to numerous public health risks related to:

              • poor water quality

              • poor wastewater collection and treatment

              • lack of stormwater infrastructure

              • improper hygiene and sanitation practices
