Turkey hosts the most number of refugees in the world. The majority of these are Syrian and Afghan.
The biggest challenges include social cohesion and cultural integration within Turkish society. There are language, communication and cultural barriers as well as financial insecurity and political vulnerability.

Your opportunity to make an impact
IDRF is working with the IBC community centre in Kilis, Esenyurt and now Istanbul. These communities are home to large populations of refugees. IDRF is working directly on the ground providing psychosocial services and interventions to support refugees and host communities.
We are working to improve overall wellbeing through mental health services; To aid financial stability through skill development; to provide guidance and legal support; and to facilitate social cohesion within the community and help improve quality of life.
Services include : Case management, Legal aid, Legal counselling, Individual psychological support, Family psychological support, Translation and transportation services, Informative meetings, Awareness raising session, Vocational training (eg. embroidery), Recreational and educational activities for children.
